Chair Pose challenge: how long can you hold it?

Chair pose, also called utkatasana or the wall sit, is the classic test of quad endurance. Your webcam tracks your knee angle and back position while you hold.

How to play

  1. Stand facing the camera, about 1.5 metres back, so your head to your knees are in frame. Your feet can be out of frame.
  2. Bend your knees to roughly 90 degrees, as if sitting in a chair that is not there.
  3. Keep your back upright and both feet flat. Your timer starts when the pose locks in.

World record

The longest recorded hold we found is 11:51:14 by Thienna Ho (Vietnam), 2008 (Guinness World Records). Records can be broken after we last checked, and a hold timed on SlayFit is not an official attempt.

A wall behind you gives you the classic wall sit. Official wall sit attempts have your back flat against a wall.
